Max Early (b. 1993) is a printmaker, writer, and book artist based in Charlottesville, VA, USA. They studied printmaking and book arts at the University of Virginia under artist Dean Dass.
Max specializes in designing handcrafted custom coptic stitch notebooks. In their designs, they repurpose collage material from art and culture books and magazines, upcycling materials when they can.
Max is the founder of Flyingpigs Press, created in 2014 originally as a distribution for their zine projects. Seven years later, Flyingpigs Press has grown into an online store for handmade notebooks for artists, students, writers, thinkers, and aspirationalists.
Flyingpigs Press is a people-oriented independent press, aspiring to share their art objects at a fair cost. Flyingpigs Press accepts artist trades as payment and offers a sliding scale of payment to all of its customers in an attempt to address socioeconomic disparity in the United States.
